Chetan Bhagat turned a year older yesterday and on the occasion, hosted a party for near and dear ones at his Pali Hill residence. Team Half Girlfriend (based on the Bhagat’s eponymous novel)– Arjun Kapoor, Shraddha Kapoor, Mohit Suri, Udita Goswami and Mithoon among others – was present to celebrate the author’s special day with him.

While stars poured in one after the other, we couldn’t help but notice that a certain personality arrived in a swanky new pair of wheels. Who was it, you ask? Well, Ekta Kapoor.
We hear that she bought the car (Mercedes) a few days ago and it was the first time it hit the road.

We were also delighted to see Sushant Singh Rajput at the do. The star was part of Kai Po Che! the Hindi adaption of Chetan Bhagat’s book, 3 Mistakes Of My Life and shares a warm bond with the writer.
As for the bash, our well-placed sources tell us that Arjun crooned the hit number, Baarish, from his upcoming film, Half Girlfriend, at the do. The guests danced the night away to peppy numbers, most of which were from Mohit Suri-directorials.
Half Girlfriend, which kick-started in June last year, revolves around a rural boy from Bihar, Madhav Jha, who enters Delhi’s prestigious St. Stephen’s College through sports quota and falls in love with a rich Delhiite, Riya Somani. Despite polar opposite backgrounds they bond on basketball and thus begins a relationship like no other.
Talking about the experience of working on Half Girlfriend, Shraddha had said, “Bringing Chetan Bhagat’s words to life has been challenging and so much fun memories, memories, memories! It’s been amazing with an amazing team. Such awesomely passionate talents coming together. This beautiful world of making films.”
